6. Retention

Retention per category is listed in section 2. In addition:

7. Queries to data sources

To build a report the server queries public data services. Only coordinates or a map extent are sent (for the address search, the search text), never your name, e-mail address or property details. Categories: federal and state geodata and map services (e.g. BEV, state GIS services, data.gv.at, RIS), GeoSphere Austria, Statistik Austria, Umweltbundesamt, Bundesdenkmalamt, RTR (Netztest), European Environment Agency (EEA) and EU JRC (PVGIS), address search via Photon (komoot) and Nominatim (OpenStreetMap), OpenStreetMap vector tiles (OpenFreeMap, VersaTiles) and Overpass, Transitous journey planning. Details: data sources.

The report map loads map tiles and layers directly from your browser, in particular from basemap.at (mapsneu.wien.gv.at) and federal and state geodata services. Those servers receive your IP address and the map extent shown, as with any web page request.

8. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR). Write to kontakt@place-check.com.

Deleting your account: in the dashboard under "Delete account" (type DELETE). This deletes the account, sessions, linked sign-in providers, password hash, API keys, connected apps, credit ledger and all full reports. Anonymous reports are kept without an owner. Also kept: the hash in signup_grants and, for at most 24 hours, the IP hash of the sign-up limit.

Complaints: you can complain to the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde), Barichgasse 40-42, 1030 Vienna, www.dsb.gv.at.

9. Security

Transport only via TLS (HTTPS); passwords, API keys, magic links and OAuth tokens stored only as hashes; encrypted request cookie; database in the EU; access to production systems by the operator only.
